What is the purpose of youth baseball? Are parents trying to get their kids to compete in the MLB and secure 7 figure contracts? And possibly drive exotic cars so they don't end up driving a Toyota Corolla? I just wonder how serious most parents take kids baseball games, especially the fact most kids baseball games aren't going to have fans that buy merch and financially support the team like Dodgers baseball.
I thought it was just good so kids don't grow up to be fat and stay active, if your standards are set low.
But what is even good for kids baseball? Parents go crazy for something like catching a fly ball, but in the MLB, it's expected and any professional player who drops any easy fly ball will likely be questioned. Or even something like a home run, I remember some dad was upset he didn't get to see his son's first home run, but home runs are pretty common in the MLB.
